Analytics / DEFINED TERM
Bounce Rate
The percentage of website visitors who leave after viewing only one page without taking any further action.
IN DEPTH
A high bounce rate can indicate poor content relevance, slow page loading, bad UX, or misleading search snippets. However, context matters - a blog post that fully answers a question may have a high bounce rate but still serve its purpose. Reducing bounce rate typically involves improving page load speed, matching content to search intent, adding clear CTAs, and improving above-the-fold content.
