CRO / DEFINED TERM
Social Proof
Psychological evidence that other people trust and use a product or service, such as reviews, testimonials, case studies, and user counts.
IN DEPTH
Social proof is one of the most powerful conversion drivers in marketing. Types include customer testimonials, star ratings and reviews, case studies with measurable results, client logos, user counts ("Join 10,000+ businesses"), media mentions, certifications, and influencer endorsements. Placing social proof near conversion points (pricing pages, checkout, signup forms) can increase conversion rates by 15–270%. Authenticity is critical - fabricated social proof damages trust.
